In a real-life interpretation of countless children’s movies, a young Chinese boy got his head stuck in a stone guardrail last Sunday. The boy, a resident of Guizhou province in Southwest China, was freed eventually by firefighters, who rushed to the scene. The firefighters were forced to use hydraulic pliers to spread the opening of the guardrail wider. The boy was crying, but is said to be unharmed. A tearful embrace with his grandmother ensued after the boy was rescued. Perhaps the most bizarre part of this story is the fact that it is still unclear why and how the boy got stuck in the first place. Chinese television reported that the boy was playing with his friends prior to the incident, but no evidence of this claim has surfaced.
