31 May

The "Captain Planet" And "Magic Schoolbus" Are Actually The Same Show Theory

Buzzfeed, a web content aggregate, has compiled a list of 15 crazy theories about some televisions shows and movies that we’ve ALL seen. How people came up with these theories…I’ll never know. BUT, I think there are some interesting ideas floating around. Here are some of my favorites:

1) The movie Aladdin was actually set in the future.

2) The Rugrats never actually happened

3) Rebecca Black’s “Friday” is about JFK’s assassination

4) Samurai Jack and the Powerpuff Girls are set in the same universe

5) Captain Planet and the Magic School Bus are the same show

Click here for explanations for these theories and more! What do you guys think? Do you know of any other pop culture, re-inventive theories that aren’t on this list?

Television Fall lineup

15 May

With summer just around the corner comes the season finales of some of our favorite shows. This happens every year and yet I somehow always find myself not emotionally prepared! Many of the major networks have announced their fall lineup this past week. Here are some of the results, surprises, and heart breaks:

1) Glee has been picked up by Fox for another season…although it will be moving from Fox’s Tuesday night comedy block to Thursday nights.

2) NBC has renewed 30 Rock for a FINAL 13 episode season. Excuse me while I go cry.

3) NBC has also renewed Parks and Rec (22 episodes), Community (13 episodes…and it is being moved to Friday nights which are lovingly referred to as “The Death Slot” seeing as many shows are moved to Friday nights right before they are cancelled), and Up All Night (13 episodes). Can somebody explain to me why all of these great comedies are being given half-seasons?

4) Fox has picked up Mindy Kaling’s new show titled, “The Mindy Project.” Mindy is a writer/actor on “The Office” so chances are that this show will be pretty legit.

5) NBC has renewed Whitney, which is surprising since it’s ratings were never really that good.

6) ABC has yet to announce it’s lineup…but they have announced that they cancelled “GCB.” I’ve never watched this show but it stars Kristen Chenoweth. Who doesn’t love her?

7) The CW is another network that hasn’t announced its lineup. We do know that “The Secret Circle” is cancelled as well as “Ringer.”

What do you guys think? What are you most excited for? How sad are you that 30 Rock is almost over?
